Promising filly Manhattan Blonde earned a welcome reward for her honesty with her terrific win in the Star Printing Maiden Plate (1400m) at Hamilton.

Manhattan Blonde had finished further back than sixth only once in her first seven starts but managed to display her talent with a comfortable win in her latest assignment.

Prolific jockey Dean Yendall teamed up with Manhattan Blonde again after partnering the three-year-old when she was narrowly beaten in a Geelong Synthetic maiden in August.

Yendall positioned the daughter of Barely A Moment behind the early speed before peeling her out into clear running rounding the home turn.

A slow track at Hamilton failed to dull Manhattan Blonde’s neat turn of foot once Yendall asked her to extend early in the straight.
Manhattan Blonde skipped away from her opposition to score a comfortable 1-1/4 length to start on her winning way in the $15,000 event.

Manhattan Blonde earned a $9,000 winner’s cheque to take her prizemoney tally to more than $16,000.

Congratulations to her owners – P McLean, L Vannata, D Jolly, Miss S Jeffreys, B Pearson, G Bridges, Miss J Hardiman, Miss A Vilen & Mrs S Bolton Teesdale Racing (Mgr: R Jeffreys).
