Trainer Profile
Vincent Malady
Vincent Malady didn't come from a racing background but when growing up he was very much into sport in general. Thoroughbred racing was always his passion. In the mid 90's as a 15 year old school boy, Vincent would regularly attend church with his family and it just so happened to be the same church that the Late George Hanlon attended. Vincent approached George and asked if he could come to the stables to work part-time as he was still at school and George had no hesitation in giving him a go. George was a hard task master but also a gifted horseman and Vincent knew he needed to work hard and listen to George if he ever wanted to make racing his long term career. Once he completed his HSC Vincent took up a full time position with the George Hanlon stable and this is where he would learn his trade for the future when he to would become a professional racehorse trainer.
Vincent has a relaxed approach to training and loves the lifestyle that comes with this profession. With his partner Sam working with him each day together with their staff members riding all of the trackwork, the stable runs like clockwork. Vin mixes up the horses routines by taking them away from the track quite often and works them at the beach. He finds that it keeps them focussed, happy and relaxed and it particularly works well with alot of the old tried horses that Vincent has in his care.
Vincent thrives on hard work, he enjoys working hands on with the horses and his drive to succeed is evident by the amount of time that he puts into his stables and the way that his horses are presented on raceday.
